About The Position

The Sr. Director, Finance – Specialty Health is a critical leadership role responsible for driving financial planning, performance management, and decision support across McKesson Canada’s Specialty Health portfolio. This includes Specialty Prescription Services, Specialty Distribution, Patient Support Programs (PSPs), INVIVA clinics, and other specialty health businesses. This role is designed for a hands-on, analytically strong finance leader who excels in advanced financial modeling, scenario analysis, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, bringing clarity to complex financial questions and translating data into actionable insights that drive profitability, cash flow, and long-term value creation. Consistent with evolving needs of the organization, greater emphasis will be placed on Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement capability and advanced financial modeling expertise, with professional accounting designation considered an asset rather than a requirement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 13+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior-level FP&A leadership in a complex, multi-business environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong track record of translating analysis into executive-level insights and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent) or demonstrated experience applying Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies is highly preferred.
  • CPA, MBA, or other professional designation.
  • Deep experience building scalable FP&A processes and operating models.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with enterprise planning tools (e.g., SAP, BPC, Planful) is a strong asset.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, specialty distribution, or patient support services.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership & Business Partnership Act as the primary FP&A partner to Specialty Health leadership, providing insight, challenge, and decision support.
  • Lead consolidated monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc management reporting, including executive-ready decks for senior leadership.
  • Provide forward-looking analysis on risks, opportunities, and performance drivers affecting profitability and cash flow.
  • Planning, Forecasting & Modeling Own the end-to-end financial planning cycle across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, including:
  • Rolling forecasts
  • Pre-close and monthly outlooks
  • Annual budget
  • Multi-year (3+ year) long-range plans
  • Build and review sophisticated financial models to support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, investment cases, RFPs, and business transformations.
  • Develop scenario, sensitivity, and stress-test models to support executive decision-making.
  • Performance Management & Analytics Design, enhance, and maintain KPIs and performance dashboards that clearly articulate business performance.
  • Ensure financial results integrity and consistency across business units.
  • Translate complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Process Excellence & Systems Lead continuous improvement initiatives within FP&A, leveraging Six Sigma/Lean methodologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Identify and implement improvements to forecasting, reporting, and analytics processes.
  • Act as an FP&A subject matter expert for financial systems and tools (e.g., SAP, BPC, Planful or similar platforms), partnering with IT and corporate finance on enhancements.
  • People Leadership Lead a team of approximately 7 FP&A professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and development.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear objectives, delegate effectively, and provide regular performance feedback.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top finance talent, building strong bench strength and succession capability.
