About The Position

The Senior Director, Pharmacy Management System & Automation will own the Pharmacy Management System (PMS), automation strategy (RPA), and process improvement capability across Specialty Pharmacy Services and 340B operations. This leader will serve as the critical bridge between pharmacy operations, process improvement, and technology — bringing dedicated ownership and governance to capabilities currently distributed across multiple teams. The role will enable the business to scale to 175+ pharmacies by optimizing processes, reducing variation, and leveraging technology and automation to increase operational capacity without proportional increases in labor.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in pharmacy technology, pharmacy operations, automation, process improvement, or related functions, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated expertise with pharmacy management systems and a strong understanding of pharmacy and/or 340B operational workflows.
  • Deep experience with RPA, workflow automation, Lean Six Sigma/process improvement, and operational optimization in complex, high-volume environments.
  • Strong ability to bridge technology and operations — understands both system capabilities and real-world business processes and can translate effectively between the two.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying root causes, reducing process variation, and implementing technology-enabled solutions that deliver measurable productivity, quality, and scalability improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading significant transformation and change initiatives across multiple functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy and/or 340B experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with 340B qualification rules, audit processes, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Own the PMS as a business capability, including business requirements, configuration, workflow design, optimization, governance, and roadmap priorities, in partnership with the Technology organization that owns and supports the platform.
  • Translate pharmacy and 340B operational needs into clear system requirements and scalable solutions.
  • Drive standardization and optimization of PMS workflows across pharmacy locations to improve efficiency, quality, consistency, and the end-user experience.
  • Develop and execute the automation/RPA strategy across Specialty Pharmacy and 340B operations, identifying and prioritizing high-value opportunities to eliminate repetitive and non-value-added manual work.
  • Deploy automation across key operational use cases, including 340B qualification rule configuration, audit processing and reconciliation, and other high-volume transactional workflows.
  • Build repeatable automation solutions that reduce manual touchpoints and errors, improve productivity, and create additional operational capacity.
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and continuous process improvement efforts across the operation, identifying root causes of inefficiency and reducing unnecessary process variation.
  • Evaluate end-to-end workflows to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, automation, and improved system utilization.
  • Build system- and automation-driven processes that enable the pharmacy footprint to scale to 175+ locations while maintaining quality, consistency, and service.
  • Partner closely with Pharmacy Operations, 340B, Analytics, Product, Technology, and other business leaders to align system, automation, and process improvement priorities with business needs and measurable outcomes.
