About The Position

The Senior Product Manager, Product Operations - Playbook & Training will help scale Amgen’s Digital Product Operating Model (DPOM) by creating, maintaining, and facilitating the practical materials teams need to adopt product ways of working. Reporting to the Director, Product Operations, this individual contributor role will own DPOM playbook content, product management standards, templates, examples, self-serve guides, formal training, and accelerator workshops that help product teams, product groups, and business functions apply DPOM consistently. This role will translate product management practices into clear, usable, enterprise-ready guidance. The Senior Product Manager, Product Operations - Playbook & Training will create materials that help teams define product vision and strategy, understand user and business problems, develop roadmaps, define OKRs and KPIs, prioritize opportunities, conduct discovery, clarify roles and decision rights, and connect product work to measurable outcomes. This role will partner closely with Product Management Catalysts to convert real examples, lessons learned, and field-tested practices into reusable assets, while owning version control, socialization, and distribution of DPOM materials across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience or
  • Master’s degree and 6 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience or
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience
  • Associates degree and 10 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience or
  • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience
  • A minimum of 2 year experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in product operations, digital product management, product enablement, digital transformation, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of product management practices, including product vision, strategy, roadmaps, OKRs, discovery, prioritization, product charters, stakeholder alignment, and value measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into clear, practical guidance, templates, training materials, and reusable tools.
  • Experience creating playbooks, standards, frameworks, self-serve guides, examples, training content, or workshops for product, digital, agile, or transformation teams.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to lead training sessions, workshops, and working sessions with cross-functional audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics without losing substance.
  • Experience partnering with product managers, business stakeholders, technology leaders, agile teams, and enablement partners.
  • Strong attention to detail, content organization, version control, and knowledge management practices.
  • Ability to incorporate feedback, field learnings, and measurement insights into continuously improving materials.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, building new standards, and helping teams adopt new ways of working.
  • Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, or other regulated industries preferred; candidates from high-tech, digital, consulting, or product-led organizations are also encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with AI-native product development, generative AI workflows, responsible AI principles, and the evolving role of AI in product management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve DPOM playbook content and related product management guidance.
  • Create clear, practical, and scalable materials that help teams understand and apply DPOM in real product work.
  • Develop guidance for product vision, product strategy, user and business problem definition, product charters, roadmaps, OKRs, KPIs, discovery, prioritization, roles, decision rights, operating rhythms, and value measurement.
  • Partner with the Director, Product Operations and Product Management Hub leadership to ensure playbook content reflects enterprise product management standards.
  • Create and maintain templates, examples, self-serve guides, checklists, workshop materials, and other accelerators that help teams adopt DPOM.
  • Develop reusable assets that make it easier for teams to produce high-quality product strategies, roadmaps, OKRs, charters, prioritization recommendations, and value measurement plans.
  • Translate complex product management concepts into practical tools that teams can use without heavy interpretation.
  • Own version control, content hygiene, distribution, and socialization of DPOM materials across relevant enterprise channels.
  • Design and facilitate formal training sessions, accelerator workshops, and enablement experiences that help teams adopt product management practices.
  • Support business leads, Digital Product Managers, business analysts, technology leads, design, data, and engineering team members in understanding how DPOM applies to their work.
  • Create learning experiences that are practical, interactive, and grounded in real product scenarios.
  • Continuously improve training and accelerator content based on feedback, adoption barriers, and maturity insights.
  • Partner with Product Management Catalysts to convert embedded engagement learnings into reusable examples, templates, playbook updates, and training materials.
  • Partner with Product Operations colleagues to use maturity and adoption insights to identify where teams need clearer guidance or stronger enablement and to ensure tools, workflows, and AI-enabled product practices are reflected in playbook materials and accelerators.
  • Partner with Product Management Hub, business functions, digital product leadership, technology leaders, Agile Enablement, Change Management, and other enabling teams to socialize and scale DPOM guidance.
