As a Sr Deputy Program Manager Engineering - Scrum Master for the Torpedo Systems Group, you will lead agile execution for highly technical multi-discipline teams including facilitation of agile ceremonies and driving agile maturation. You will work closely with Program and Engineering leadership to provide status, develop plans, maintain metrics, and communicate with stakeholders and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proven history of technical contributions and understanding of the engineering process (Hardware and Firmware/Software).
  • Strong background in Agile Methodologies.
  • Established approaches in data capture and reporting to inform decisions and show status.
  • Fluency in data presentation tools such as Excel, Power BI, and/or other dashboarding approaches.
  • Technical and management credibility demonstrated through past experience in DoD or similar environments.
  • Experience preparing cost and schedule estimates for design tasks.
  • Proven success with Agile practices and processes in a DoD setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage geographically separated engineering teams.
  • Experience brokering consensus among diverse stakeholders and organizational interfaces.

  • Preferred experience in Scaled Agile Framework.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agile execution for highly technical multi-discipline teams including facilitation of agile ceremonies and driving agile maturation.
  • Work closely with Program and Engineering leadership to provide status, develop plans, maintain metrics, and communicate with stakeholders and customers.
  • Oversee program technical performance across engineering efforts to ensure requirements are validated, integrated, tested, and verified.
  • Develop and maintain engineering plans, risks, and opportunities while adhering to change management processes and GDMS standards.
  • Manage engineering resources including staff assignments, capital equipment, organizational interfaces, and engineering scope.
  • Conduct engineering status reviews and provide material for program reviews, including implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide input to leadership on new business opportunities, internal research and development, or business expansion initiatives.
  • Staff and lead project teams in coordination with Senior Engineering Managers and Directors of Engineering.
  • Manage resolution of technical issues and communicate outcomes to all affected parties and artifacts.
  • Drive engineering plans, risks, and opportunities while following change management processes.
  • Contribute to program reviews and implement effective corrective actions as required.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
