About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Data Scientist in New York, NY. This role involves performing deep-dive data analyses on key business trends from multiple perspectives and packaging the insights into easily consumable presentations. The Data Scientist will collect, organize, and transform data to make it visually appealing and simple to both navigate and comprehend for end-users. They will identify key metrics and drive the building of executive-facing dashboards to track business progress and high-priority initiatives. The role requires tracking key business levers, establishing cause and effect, and communicating key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision-making. The Data Scientist will engage in problem-solving with Risk, Product, and Marketing teams to determine performance trends and root causes. They will support new product launches by establishing test and control plans and ensuring constant monitoring is in place to track product performance. Additionally, the role involves creating close relationships with stakeholders to anticipate and answer questions that might be asked by executives. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field such as Information Science plus four years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Databases, spreadsheets, and statistical tools (4 years)
  • SQL, Python, data mining, and BigQuery analytics (Google Cloud) (4 years)
  • Experience in designing, executing, and analyzing experiments for product and feature launches (4 years)
  • Experience synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable insights and compelling narratives (4 years)
