About The Position

Innova Solutions is hiring a senior developer for a contract-to-hire role in Wilmington, Delaware. The role focuses on developing and supporting secure, scalable, high-quality, highly available, distributed, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, Kubernetes, and distributed databases. The successful candidate will write, review, and debug production code and help make decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.

The position also involves working with ETL and streaming pipelines and collaborating across technology teams in Agile environments. Additional technologies and capabilities mentioned include Apache Spark, Terraform, Unix/Linux, shell scripting, cloud monitoring and observability, and practical generative AI solution development using Azure OpenAI.

The contract is for an initial duration of 6+ months, with the opportunity to convert to hire. The offered pay rate is $85 per hour; actual pay may depend on education, experience, work location, duties, and certifications.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing and developing applications using microservices architecture.
• Experience with AWS services including SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployments.
• Strong knowledge of Cassandra or other large-scale distributed databases.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 7+ years of applied experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Strong experience building and supporting highly available, distributed, cloud-native applications.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across technology teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with shell scripting and Unix/Linux systems.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code and cloud infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with modern LLM/generative AI techniques and practical solution development using Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools in cloud-native environments.
