About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst to support their CFTC contract. This individual will join a team of high performers and will be responsible for expert analysis in transaction-level data across derivatives markets. The role requires familiarity with the CFTC’s dual cloud environment and the skillset to develop data standards and perform analysis to support real-time alerts and reporting within the complex NMS platform. The analyst will conduct analysis, develop and update requirements and schemas for exchanges, and map CFTC in-house exchange datasets to NMS FIX input messages. This position is Hybrid and requires the candidate to be local to the DC, MD, VA area.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; or 12 years with a HS degree
Derivative markets knowledge with Futures, Options and Swaps products and exchanges.
Experience/Knowledge in AWS cloud tools
Experience in Redshift data warehouse service
Experience/Knowledge of XML, FIXML, FPML
At least one (1) year of experience using: SQL, PostgreSQL
Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, SQL Server Management Studio.
SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Viya.
AWS, including QuickSight, Redshift, Sage Maker; Python, including the following Python packages/libraries/modules:
Experience with data visualization using programming languages, (e.g. Python or R), or commercial tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, Tableau, JMP, or Amazon Web Services (AWS) QuickSight
Must be able to go onsite at least 3 days a week
Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Nice To Haves

Active Public Trust Clearance is a plus
SQL querying skills, SAS reporting skills is a plus
Financial Industry Certifications is a plus

Responsibilities

Expert analysis in transaction-level data across derivatives markets.
Familiarity with the CFTC’s dual cloud environment.
Develop data standards and perform analysis to support real-time alerts and reporting within the complex NMS platform.
Conduct analysis and develop and update requirements and schemas for the full complement of exchanges.
Map CFTC in-house exchange datasets to NMS FIX input messages, including but not limited to, orders, trades, products, and participants.
Create technical guidance documents with data maps and conditions.
Support data loading & processing team in testing and trouble-shooting input files from external sources into NMS.
Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required.
Knowledge of industry-specific XML data exchange message formats, including necessary modifications or extensions.
Collaborate with stakeholders and industry representatives to secure approval for technical guidance.
Document expansion of existing datasets, including mapping to FIX input format, to leverage more features of the NMS system.
Assist CFTC data loading & processing team by documenting and testing expanded dataset extracts into NMS.
Assess and document new datasets needed to make better use of NMS system.
Assist CFTC data loading & processing team in relating new datasets to existing databases and testing loads and extracts into NMS for implementation.
Conduct assessments, document requirements and create mappings to support standards development for all datasets.
