About The Position

Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services (FAS) business partners with financial advisors and advisory firms to deliver investment solutions, insights, and support. We are seeking a senior data analyst to support how FAS measures performance, sets goals, and plans for the future. This role sits within the FAS Business Intelligence organization and operates as a senior individual contributor. You will own the definition, calculation and governance of core performance metrics, as well as the development and maintenance of forecasting models and data supporting goal-setting methodologies used by leaders across sales, strategy, and distribution. Success in this role requires an inherent commitment to data quality, comfort with ambiguity and an inquisitive mindset. Ideal candidate brings a blend of business acumen and technical expertise needed to design data models, build pipelines and transformations to maintain high standards for metrics integrity.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, financial analysis, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ownership of KPIs, forecasting models, or goal-setting methodologies
  • Proficient with SQL and Python and experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience with sales, distribution, or compensation-related analytics
  • Strong ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven track record of operating independently in high-visibility environments

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Analytics, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own the definition, calculation logic, and governance of core FAS performance metrics; including inclusions/exclusions, calculation logic, versioning, and change management.
  • Ensure metric consistency and accuracy across reporting and analytical outputs
  • Owns and maintains forecasting model and serves as the data expert supporting goal-setting methodologies
  • Apply multivariate analysis, exploratory modeling, and back-testing to design, test, and refine forecasting and goal-setting methodologies; balancing analytical rigor with creative hypothesis development
  • Partner closely with internal Sales Compensation teams to ensure results are captured and delivered accurately
  • Conducts persona-based impact analysis resulting from changes in underlying data sources
  • Independently identify process enhancement opportunities focused on risk reduction
  • Leverages automation to increase scalability and create process efficiencies that enable consistent, reliable analytical outputs.
  • Partners with internal BI team and stakeholders as need to provide clarity and guidance on metric interpretation, assumptions, and limitations
