About The Position

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is committed to enhancing the safety of care provided to patients. The Sr. Coordinator, Quality and Patient Safety will help in the development and implementation of various components of the patient safety program. Components of the program include but are not limited to: creating a culture of safety, accreditation and regulatory compliance, monitoring performance, education and awareness, performance improvement, event reporting, sentinel event and root cause analysis, proactive risk assessments and reward and recognition initiatives. Under the direction of the Director, Patient Safety, assists in the development and implementation of various patient safety program initiatives aimed at improving care and reducing harm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience in an acute clinical setting with demonstrated expertise in areas of health care quality & patient safety.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Six Sigma yellow belt or higher preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an acute clinical setting with demonstrated expertise in areas of health care quality & patient safety preferred.
