Sr. Controls Engineer - OBD

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Gasoline Engine Controls Development Engineer develops new features and enhances existing algorithms. Working with a cross-functional team, the engineer uses vehicles, HIL, dynos, virtual environments, and rapid prototyping throughout the V-model software development process to ensure production algorithms are robust and meet quality expectations. The role interfaces with systems and calibration teams to understand requirements, develop implementation strategies, assess compliance and robustness, ensure ease of calibration, and document impacts against regulatory requirements. The engineer implements designs efficiently and validates them against requirements in virtual and physical environments throughout production. The role also provides technical guidance and training and serves as a subject-matter expert. Controls algorithm development may begin as an advanced effort but must ultimately meet program timelines and high-level functional requirements. The successful candidate develops plans, tracks progress, presents technical reports to management and project chiefs, and participates in control-strategy decisions to achieve functional objectives.
