About The Position

As Sr. Consultant, Regulatory Initiatives for Commercial Banking and Wealth Management, you will join CIBC’s Chief Administrative Office (CAO) to lead Regulatory Initiatives on behalf of our Commercial Banking and Wealth Management teams by becoming the Regulatory Subject Matter Expert (SME), work collaboratively with our Legal and Compliance partners to challenge interpretation of regulations and develop solutions in compliance with with the regulations and a focus on both our employee and client experience. You will excel at coming up with creative solutions and striking the right balance on adherence to regulatory requirements and helping our employees to deliver on our purpose of helping make our client’s ambitions a reality. You will work with the Project Delivery team, Compliance, and Legal partners to ensure successful implementation of regulatory changes by focusing on adhering to regulatory requirements in the context of how we serve our clients today, and tomorrow. The Sr. Consultant, Regulatory Initiatives is passionate about introducing meaningful change, and developing creative solutions to support sustainment of regulatory compliance with a focus on our employee and client experience. The Sr. Consultant, Regulatory Initiatives will provide leadership on Projects acting as the Regulatory Subject Matter Expert and will help support business requirements, solution development, and the change management strategy to support the introduction and sustainment of upcoming regulatory change,. The Sr. Consultant will also lead post-launch sustainment ensuring the change has been effectively adopted, ownership is appropriately transitioned with the right support model, and that KRIs are in line with expectations. The Sr. Consultant will manage ongoing sustainment and monitoring and simplify our approach in order to accelerate adherence to regulatory change across Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute Strategic Regulatory Initiatives, delivering on the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) goals across Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.
  • Take ownership of the Regulatory change impact and ensure alignment to regulations and our strategic goals.
  • Take a risk-based approach to ensuring ongoing adherence to new regulations while supporting the business goals.
  • Embed change management methodology and maintain a focus on the employee and client experience, to deliver relevant tools and change tactics that provides the right level of engagement with key stakeholders, while supporting the enterprise in effectively transitioning through the identified change towards the desired end state.
  • Become the regulatory SME on the new regulations and leverage your experience in implementation and change management to provide leadership, specialized regulatory advice and integration support to key stakeholders and leaders across the enterprise.
  • Synthesize complex regulations and translate them to recommendations through executive level presentations.
  • Proactively identify risks and creatively resolve problems by identifying innovative alternatives finding a balance between the client experience and the right level of risk within our Risk Appetite.
  • Provide analysis and enhancements of strategic processes to support implementation or sustainment approaches and tactics with a focus on simplification and automation where possible to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of ongoing adherence to regulations while supporting our partners across Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.
  • Manage strategic key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to ensure successful delivery and sustainment of initiatives within appropriate spend budgets and in alignment with regulatory requirements.
