About The Position

The Sr. Commercial Credit Underwriter evaluates the financial condition of existing and prospective individuals and businesses applying for credit with the Bank, determining credit worthiness. This role prepares and reviews all supporting documentation for underwriting and recommends approval or rejection of credit requests. Additionally, the Sr. Commercial Credit Underwriter provides guidance to other Credit Underwriters within the department. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting.
  • Three or more years of credit analysis experience.
  • Strong financial analytical abilities; detailed oriented.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and properly use various software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently analyzing complex loan data and financial information on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other financial institutions and Bank files.
  • Completes Credit Memo/Underwriting of requests for commercial credit, remote deposit capture, and ACH customers with the Bank.
  • Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for Bank Officers on new, renewal and existing loans.
  • Performs quarterly financial reviews identifying possible negative trends.
  • Assigns risk ratings to each borrower of the bank.
  • Provides technical support to loan officers and other credit analysts.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
