The Commercial Credit Underwriter is responsible for analyzing financial data and assessing creditworthiness of commercial clients. This role completes the underwriting of loan requests and extensions of credit to business clients of the Bank as well as financial analysis with customers in the loan portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting.
  • Two or more years of credit analysis experience, or at least one year as a Jr. Commercial Credit Analyst.
  • Good financial analytical abilities; detailed oriented.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word & Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes loan data and financial information on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other financial institutions and Bank files.
  • Completes Credit Memo/Underwriting of requests for commercial credit, remote deposit capture, and ACH customers with the Bank.
  • Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for Bank Officers on new, renewal and existing loans.
  • Assigns risk ratings to each borrower of the bank.
  • Provides technical support to loan officers as needed.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
