About The Position

The Sr CNC Operator II is responsible for operating 3-axis CNC routers, plate mills, and roll-forming equipment. The role also includes completing standard lift operations or assisting with critical lift operations; performing precision blending and deburring with power or hand tools; and conducting in-process inspections with tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges. The operator is expected to uphold Relativity Space’s standards for safety and shop cleanliness and foster an inclusive team environment. The position is part of the Stage Manufacturing team, which builds Terran R’s primary structures and develops and improves the systems and processes used to manufacture the rocket.

Requirements

Experience with metal fabrication techniques, such as bending and rolling.
At least 5 years of aerospace mechanical experience or experience in a related field.
Experience with machining equipment, such as mills and lathes.
Proficiency using common hand tools and inspection tools.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office or team communication tools such as Slack or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Experience with rigging and crane operations.
Experience with welding operations.
Experience with CNC, robotics, and/or machine programming.
Experience reading drawings and/or GD&T.
