About The Position

The Senior Captain is a member of Gulfstream Flight Operations and, under the direction of the Chief Production Test Pilot, conducts flight test evaluations of production aircraft, engines, avionics systems, and related systems to verify they meet existing design and performance specifications. The role also operates Gulfstream aircraft as Pilot in Command, domestically and internationally, in support of Airborne Customer Support, corporate transportation, customer accommodation, demonstrations, entry into service, Gulfstream maintenance, production testing, and other assigned functions.

The Senior Captain serves as an assigned point of contact for internal and external customers, supports customer engagement, mentors Flight Operations personnel, and coordinates Flight Operations activities at assigned events. The role requires broad knowledge of domestic and international flight operations and applicable corporate and Flight Operations policies, as well as the ability to manage assignments independently and represent Gulfstream. The captain also proactively assists Gulfstream Dispatch with flight planning and coordination, manages ancillary responsibilities, and seeks opportunities to improve the department. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience as a professional pilot in the aviation industry.
• At least 2,000 total flight hours or 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command of turbine-powered aircraft.
• ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) required upon hire.
• FAA First Class Medical Certificate required upon hire and must be maintained.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to manage assignments independently and represent Flight Operations and Gulfstream.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Previous Gulfstream experience with GVII and/or G280 type ratings.
• Production Test or Functional Test Pilot experience.
• At least 2 years of Gulfstream Flight Operations experience.
• Gulfstream type rating.

Responsibilities

• Conduct flight test evaluations of production aircraft, engines, avionics systems, and related systems to confirm compliance with design and performance specifications.
• Operate Gulfstream aircraft as Pilot in Command on domestic and international flights in support of Airborne Customer Support, corporate transportation, customer accommodation, demonstrations, entry into service, Gulfstream maintenance, production testing, and other assigned functions.
• Serve as an assigned point of contact for Flight Operations with internal and external customers.
• Apply knowledge of domestic and international flight operations and corporate and Flight Operations policies.
• Manage assignments independently while representing Flight Operations and Gulfstream.
• Mentor other Gulfstream Flight Operations personnel.
• Communicate with Gulfstream personnel to facilitate effective customer engagement.
• Manage and execute assigned ancillary responsibilities.
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve the functioning of the department.
• Coordinate and direct Flight Operations activities at assigned events.
• Assist Gulfstream Dispatch with planning and coordination of flight activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
