Sr. Business Systems Engineer

Engine
•$101,200 - $140,000

About The Position

Engine is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to help evolve Business Systems from a traditional admin/operations function into an engineering-led team. The role builds and connects systems supporting Engine’s go-to-market operations, including CRM, engagement, enrichment, automation, integrations, internal tools, and cross-platform workflows. The engineer will ship changes through git and CI/CD, contribute to stronger release practices, and use AI in production workflows to reduce manual work. The role partners with RevOps, Sales, Growth, and Engineering to deliver maintainable systems that address important business problems. This position offers broad exposure across go-to-market and Engineering at a scaled, cash-flow-positive company, with an opportunity to shape how the Business Systems team builds and ships. The role is associated with Engine’s hybrid-hub model: employees may work from an office or fully remotely, depending on role needs. Compensation includes a base salary range of $101,200–$140,000 USD and equity; some roles may also receive an annual bonus. Perks and benefits vary by employment type, location, and other factors.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a business systems or go-to-market systems engineer, or in a similar role, building, integrating, and automating systems rather than doing ticket-only administration.
  • Ability to write code where appropriate, including scripting, API work, and light application development, and to judge when no-code or low-code solutions are sufficient.
  • Hands-on experience with git and CI/CD for deploying changes to production.
  • Practical AI experience, such as shipped automations or agents, or substantial use of AI coding tools on production systems.
  • Experience with a modern go-to-market technology stack, including CRM, sequencing or engagement, enrichment, and an iPaaS or integration layer.
  • Ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-engineers without relying on excessive jargon.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Admin or Platform Developer certifications.
  • Travel or marketplace industry background.
  • Experience with Data Cloud or Agentforce.
  • Experience helping a systems team transition toward engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build, integrate, and automate systems supporting Engine’s go-to-market operations, including CRM, engagement, enrichment, and automation.
  • Develop integrations, internal tooling, and workflows that span multiple platforms, including Salesforce.
  • Ship changes through git and CI/CD rather than one-off manual deployments, and help improve release practices.
  • Wire AI into production workflows where it reduces manual work and use AI coding tools in day-to-day development with review and testing.
  • Partner with RevOps, Sales, and Growth to translate business problems into durable systems.
  • Create maintainable systems and leave documentation or implementation work that others can sustain.
  • Help shape how the Business Systems team builds and ships as it adopts more engineering-led practices.

Benefits

  • Equity for all employees.
  • Competitive base pay tied to role and experience.
  • Some roles may be eligible for annual bonuses or commissions.
  • Benefits are available, with details provided at engine.com/culture; offerings may vary by employment type, location, and other factors.
