About The Position

VARITE is seeking a qualified Sr Business Systems Analyst for a 12-month contract role supporting a central banking system in the United States. This role is crucial for managing monetary policy, regulating financial institutions, and providing banking services. The analyst will support applications used across the Client System and the Board of the Governors for regulatory and monetary policy functions. The primary responsibility is to meet the business objectives of the client's delegated functions (Statistics and Reserves) through excellent customer service and technical analysis.

  • Java, Oracle
  • Jira, Confluence
  • Proficiency in both on-premises and cloud-based application architectures (AWS)
  • Incident management and problem resolution capabilities
  • Intermediate to expert level query writing experience (Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift)
  • Production Support (Level 1 and 2)
  • Experience with shift work (after-hours and weekends) and on-call rotations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact professionally and influence all levels of staff, leadership, and a diverse group of customers
  • Ability to take on a shift on a rotational basis during business hours between 4:00 am PT to 6:00 pm PT or after-hours from 6:00 pm PT to 4:00 am PT / weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Employ analytical skills and customer service abilities to troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, devising solutions, and providing guidance to STAR's system-wide user base in a 24x7 help desk environment.
  • Support and enhance day-to-day STAR operational services through application of technical expertise in resolving reported incidents or issues.
  • Analyze complex business problems and perform related in-depth research.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address business or system issues.
  • Use technical expertise to identify, evaluate, and develop processes and procedures that enhance the team's ability to support customers proactively and efficiently.
  • Produce training and technical documentation for existing and enhanced STAR business processes and applications.
  • Actively participate in testing activities of the STAR suite of applications, monitor systems, and perform system health checks as needed.
  • Develop a good understanding of the STAR business and inter-dependent systems.
