About The Position

EPG is currently seeking a full-time Sr. Business Development Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems for one of our partners, an energy storage technology company delivering advanced battery systems and integrated power solutions for commercial, industrial, and grid-scale applications. This is a high-visibility role within a collaborative, cross-functional environment where ownership is valued, leadership is accessible, and your work sits at the forefront of energy, infrastructure, and emerging technology. In this position, you will drive business growth by originating and converting opportunities through your industry network, expanding strategic partnerships, and leading deals from initial engagement through contract execution. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring regular in-person office attendance, with travel anticipated for customer meetings, partner development, site visits, and industry events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in energy storage, renewable energy, distributed energy resources, or a closely related field
  • A track record of success in business development, consultative sales, or building and managing commercial partnerships
  • Documented ability to self-source new business opportunities by activating and leveraging an existing professional network
  • Well-established connections within one or more of the following sectors: EPC contracting, commercial real estate, energy management, ESCOs, project development, or distributed energy infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial energy storage applications, including demand charge management, emergency backup power, energy arbitrage, grid resiliency, and behind-the-meter solar integration
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes within infrastructure or project-based environments
  • Polished verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently and build lasting client relationships
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, high-velocity work environment
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site on a full-time basis

  • Hands-on experience developing or selling battery energy storage systems or fully integrated energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers

  • Proven ability to lead complex proposal efforts, respond to RFPs and RFQs, and drive commercial negotiations to successful outcomes
  • A solid grasp of how customers evaluate energy investments, including an understanding of project payback periods, return on investment, and overall financial feasibility

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging an established network of industry contacts across commercial and industrial energy storage markets
  • Build and actively manage a self-generated pipeline of prospects including EPCs, channel partners, and end-use customers
  • Evaluate and target high-value applications such as peak demand reduction, standby power, energy arbitrage, and photovoltaic integration
  • Execute both direct-to-customer and partner-driven sales strategies across key market segments
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with EPC contractors, commercial property groups, energy consultants, project developers, and energy service companies
  • Translate professional relationships and market knowledge into active commercial opportunities and measurable deal flow
  • Engage prospective customers to assess project scope, identify application fit, and understand key commercial priorities
  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals and presentations that drive customer decision-making and advance commercial discussions
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process from initial qualification through negotiation and final contract execution
  • Contribute to solution pricing, financial return analysis, and the commercial structuring of customer agreements
  • Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams to ensure proposed solutions align with customer technical and operational requirements
  • Sustain consistent pipeline reporting, accurate revenue forecasting, and thorough account documentation
  • Gather and communicate insights on market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform internal strategy
  • Serve as a company representative at client meetings, conferences, industry trade events, and partner engagements
