About The Position

At Alcon, the Sr. Associate, IT Business Systems Analysis supports Research & Development teams at the Fort Worth main campus. The role acts as an IT business partner, designing and implementing IT solutions aligned with business needs and collaborating across functions to deliver high-quality business systems. It combines business analysis and R&D systems expertise to improve workflows, encourage adoption, and support innovation. The position partners with assigned R&D teams and related stakeholders on system needs, enhancements, and operational activity; gathers and translates requirements into IT solutions; and supports prioritization and delivery of improvements. It also collaborates with analytics and data science teams to identify AI use cases, helps connect lab systems with enterprise and data platforms, and provides day-to-day support and continuous improvement while minimizing disruption to research activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of directly related experience; alternatively, high school education plus 11 years of experience, an associate degree plus 6 years, or a master's degree plus 0 years.
Fluent ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong skills in requirements gathering and business process analysis.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Problem-solving skills in complex, cross-functional environments.

Experience in pharma, medical device, or regulated (GxP) environments.
Exposure to R&D platforms and integrations, such as Veeva and AWS, supporting Clinical R&D and Product Safety.

Responsibilities

Act as an IT business technology partner for assigned R&D teams and stakeholders, supporting intake, prioritization, follow-up, and operational activity related to systems.
Partner with stakeholders to understand process needs, document requirements, clarify business justification, and align requests with release plans and system capabilities.
Communicate with business teams, IT partners, quality and compliance teams, and vendors about scope, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
Maintain working relationships with business leads, vendor resources, internal IT teams, and compliance partners.
Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into actionable IT solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, system usability, data integrity and quality, reporting, system utilization, and operational efficiency.
Support prioritization and delivery of enhancements aligned with business objectives.
Work with IT stakeholders and vendors to clarify configuration needs, review proposed solutions, and support business acceptance of delivered capabilities.
Promote awareness and adoption of AI capabilities.
Partner with local analytics and data science teams to support AI use-case identification and development.
Translate scientific workflows into opportunities for AI-driven insights and efficiencies.
Guide teams in using enterprise and local applications in alignment with Alcon standards and governance.
Support integration of laboratory systems with broader enterprise and data platforms.
Advocate for scalable, compliant, and sustainable IT solutions.
Provide day-to-day support to minimize disruption to research activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance user experience, system performance, and operational efficiency.
