Sr Associate, Dasher & Logistics - Dasher Financial Strategy & Operations

DoorDashNew York City, NY
$87,000 - $128,000

About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Associate, Strategy & Operations to launch and scale a new debt paydown product for Dashers. Dashers connect their debt accounts, choose one to focus on, and automatically route a share of every dash payout into paying it down. A pilot proved the behavioral loop works: pick a goal, earmark money from each dash, pay it down frequently. Your job is to turn that into a product that runs at scale — which means real money moving out of Dashers’ accounts to their lenders every day, correctly and defensibly. To deliver on that promise, we need an operator who can hold compliance, reconciliation, and the Dasher experience in their head at the same time. As a Senior Associate, you will: Own launch readiness end-to-end: drive the financial compliance review to sign-off and close out funds-flow documentation with Treasury and Technical Accounting. Build the operational backbone the product runs on — daily reconciliation between what we debit, what we wire, and what actually reaches lenders — plus the support playbook for failed, returned, and misapplied payments. Make the policy calls that have no precedent yet: payment caps and floors, routing limits, and how we handle a payment already sent against a payout that later reverses. Own the phased rollout and the measurement that proves it worked — sequencing, FAQs, support enablement, and the instrumentation behind the 12-week debt-reduction readout. Dasher Financial is an ambitious bet - building fintech products for the future of work. The problems here are concrete and mostly unsolved: what to do when a lender posts a payment late, when a balance is stale at the moment we pay, or when a payout reverses after the money is already gone. For someone with a proven track record of owning ambiguous problems end-to-end who wants to grow into a general manager, this is a rare opportunity to learn by doing in a zero-to-one environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience and have succeeded in high-growth teams (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and back your decisions with data (comfortable pulling SQL or modeling in Excel), and you can pressure-test a metric definition to spot when a number is measuring the wrong thing
  • Curious, driven, and comfortable with ambiguity — you turn open questions into written decisions with named owners
  • Shipped something with a hard launch date, and you can reason about money movement (settlement timing, reconciliation, failed and returned payments) — or will get there fast
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Own launch readiness end-to-end: drive the financial compliance review to sign-off and close out funds-flow documentation with Treasury and Technical Accounting.
  • Build the operational backbone the product runs on — daily reconciliation between what we debit, what we wire, and what actually reaches lenders — plus the support playbook for failed, returned, and misapplied payments.

  • Own the phased rollout and the measurement that proves it worked — sequencing, FAQs, support enablement, and the instrumentation behind the 12-week debt-reduction readout.
  • Analyze & problem-solve: Break down the unsolved questions in a live money-movement product — stale balances, late lender postings, reversed payouts — and turn them into decisions with owners.
  • Drive execution: Own the launch readiness work that determines whether this ships: compliance sign-off, funds flow, and daily reconciliation.
  • Experiment & learn: Instrument the 12-week debt-reduction readout and the counter-metrics that show whether debt is genuinely going down or just moving around.
  • Collaborate: Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Legal, and Treasury to launch and scale the product.
  • Grow fast: Build the toolkit of a future operator/GM by shipping a regulated fintech product end-to-end.
