Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or a science field.
  • 3-5 years of working experience working in a chemical laboratory environment.
  • Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently on multi-task assignments
  • Ability to effectively present information in small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Able to work onsite, 5 days a week, in our Rocky Hill location

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Suite and JMP software (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assure all R&D laboratory work is conducted in a safe manner including understanding the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, and 5S; ensures products and processes comply with all federal and state regulatory agencies
  • Take on equipment ownership to operate application equipment safely and efficiently. Able to set up, operate and troubleshoot equipment of moderate complexity
  • With minimal supervision, accurately follow process procedures and record experimental details, collecting and organizing data in a coherent format. Able to analyze and judge the quality of data
  • Report laboratory results and methods according to Henkel lab book policies; results, reports and observations will be communicated to internal/external customers in a timely manner
  • Execute standardized test plans with minimal supervision
  • Help develop new tests for materials performance as required and apply learning from one project to the next
  • Familiar with products and substrates associated with assigned technology team/market/region
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data. Must have ability to identify and report abnormalities in collected data and/or project work to supervisors
  • Plan daily and weekly activities, multi-tasking as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  • Train other technicians regarding equipment operating and/or test procedures
