About The Position

BigBear.ai is seeking a Sr. Application Developer with a front-end focus to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). The role supports the SOURCE team and its flagship application, which serves as a homepage across the Intelligence Community and the main platform for FINTEL. The developer will work on legacy and existing systems by building features and enhancements, fixing bugs, and enabling a successor system to integrate with older systems so both can coexist. The position is based in Washington, D.C., and requires hybrid SCIF support. The developer will independently manage complex assignments with minimal oversight, determine methods and solutions with appreciable latitude, contribute to deliverables and performance metrics, and apply comprehensive technical knowledge. Responsibilities may include planning and leading major technology assignments, evaluating performance and recommending changes, acting as a technical expert across projects, and possibly supervising others. The work includes supporting development of a new, interactive, AI-enabled, containerized iteration of SOURCE as it transitions from virtual machines to containers.

Requirements

Must currently reside in the United States.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
Either a master's degree and at least 8 years of application or software development experience, with at least some experience within the last 2 years, or a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of application or software development experience as a substitute for a master's degree.
Full-stack development experience supporting development of a new SOURCE iteration.
Mandatory experience with Node.js with TypeScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearch.
Experience with Angular, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, NestJS, Node, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, and Docker.

Nice To Haves

Experience with JSON, Java, JavaScript, SharePoint, XML, VBAs, Oracle, MongoDB, Solr, SQL, OpenAI, or other AI technologies.
Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team.
Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Develop features and enhancements for legacy and existing systems and fix bugs.
Enable the successor system to integrate with older legacy systems so both systems can coexist.
Support development of a new iteration of SOURCE that is interactive, leverages AI, and is containerized.
Independently manage multiple complex assignments with minimal oversight and review.
Determine approaches and present solutions to problems with originality and innovation.
Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Plan and lead major technology assignments.
Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
Serve as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
May supervise others.
