About The Position

Revelyst is hiring a Sr. Apparel Designer for its Simms brand, which creates premium fishing gear for anglers. The role will help shape the creative direction of Simms apparel collections by translating consumer insights, emerging trends, and the brand’s technical heritage into elevated designs that combine performance, function, and style. The designer will lead apparel design execution from concept development and seasonal color direction through material selection, garment design, and commercialization. Working closely with Product Development, Merchandising, and other cross-functional teams, the designer will contribute creative vision, technical apparel knowledge, and expertise in materials, construction, fit, and performance. The position is based in the Bozeman, Montana office and reports to the Sr. Director, Product - Simms.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
6–8+ years of apparel design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating advanced sportswear design expertise; technical, performance, or outdoor apparel experience is preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Expert knowledge of color theory, merchandising, garment construction, fit, silhouettes, fabrication, prints, graphics, embellishments, and trims.
Exceptional conceptual and creative skills, with the ability to translate consumer insights, trends, and brand stories into innovative, commercially relevant designs.
Ability to develop cohesive color and design direction across an entire product line.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including effective partnership with Product Development, Merchandising, Sales, and other teams.
Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and adaptability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Create innovative, differentiated apparel designs that elevate the Simms brand and reflect industry-leading sportswear design standards.
Develop seasonal apparel concepts, color palettes, and design direction informed by consumer insights, market trends, and brand strategy.
Translate creative concepts into functional, technically advanced apparel balancing performance, fit, construction, materials, and aesthetics.
Execute apparel design from initial concept through commercialization, maintaining design intent, quality, and product integrity throughout development.
Collaborate with Product Development, Merchandising, Brand, Marketing, and Sourcing to deliver differentiated, commercially viable products.
Select and apply fabrics, materials, trims, colors, and construction techniques to enhance product performance, durability, and consumer experience.
Research emerging sportswear, outdoor apparel, material, and construction trends to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
Present design concepts, seasonal direction, and product recommendations to cross-functional partners and leadership, incorporating feedback while maintaining a strong creative point of view.
Apply Simms brand standards consistently across apparel collections while identifying opportunities to evolve the brand’s design language.
Balance creative vision with consumer demand, cost targets, manufacturability, and business objectives to support profitable product creation.
Resolve design and product challenges with cross-functional teams while maintaining development timelines and product quality.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
