About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Analyst, Business Process in San Jose, CA. This role involves partnering with Finance stakeholders to identify system enablement needs for new products and modernization initiatives. The analyst will drive the intake, documentation, and validation of Finance systems and operating requirements to ensure readiness for implementation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, and Compliance is key to embedding Finance requirements early in the product lifecycle. The role also requires coordinating business requirements across Controllership, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Accounting to support scalable processes, control frameworks, and audit alignment. Assessing automation opportunities and feasibility, designing and implementing enhancements for M&A integrations, and supporting Procure-to-Pay processes are also core functions. Additionally, the analyst will develop playbooks, dashboards, and reporting frameworks, conduct independent process analyses, and publish documentation, job aids, and training materials to support global adoption of Finance-integrated processes. Partial telecommuting is permitted.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field, plus two years in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field, plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience driving complex product launches with embedded finance, risk, or compliance requirements. (2 years)
  • Experience with product lifecycle processes, including new product intake, change management, and go-to-market readiness. (2 years)
  • Experience translating finance and risk requirements into actionable execution plans for product and engineering teams. (2 years)
  • Experience using at least three of the following project management tools: SQL, Tableau, Jira, Smartsheets, Lucidchart, or Confluence, to build structures in ambiguous environments. (2 years)
  • Experience with SAP systems or enterprise financial systems. (2 years)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and API testing. (2 years)
  • Experience in cross-functional stakeholder management involving Finance, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams. (2 years)
  • Experience developing process documentation, governance frameworks, or control playbooks for financial operations. (2 years)
  • Experience supporting M&A integration, entity onboarding, or treasury enablement projects. (1 year)
  • Experience with financial reconciliation, accounting concepts, or compliance frameworks, in a technology or financial services environment. (2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to identify system enablement needs for new products and modernization initiatives.
  • Drive the intake, documentation, and validation of Finance systems and operating requirements to ensure readiness for implementation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to embed Finance requirements early in the product lifecycle.

  • Develop playbooks, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to improve roadmap transparency, intake prioritization, and delivery tracking.
  • Conduct independent process analyses to identify improvement opportunities, streamline workflows, and enhance cross-functional engagement.
  • Publish documentation, job aids, and training materials to support consistent adoption of Finance-integrated processes globally.
