Sr AI Full Stack Developer
About The Position
AIS is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Full Stack Developer to support a client project and drive rapid development in an AI-assisted environment. The role uses AI coding assistants such as Claude and Amazon Q Developer to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for security, AWS cloud architecture, PostgreSQL, and code quality. The developer will work with Java and Spring Boot on the back end and Angular on the front end, and will manually review, debug, and optimize code to prevent integration issues and low-quality abstractions. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance and onsite work in Washington, DC. The posting also describes senior-level expectations including acting as a multi-domain subject matter expert, defining enterprise patterns, directing complex cross-functional initiatives, setting quality and delivery practices, mentoring across the organization, and advising executives on strategy. Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance and ability to work onsite in Washington, DC.
- Undergraduate or master's degree in Computer Science.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot, Angular version 17 or higher, PostgreSQL, and AWS environments.
- At least 4 years of Java/Spring Boot experience.
- At least 4 years of Angular experience.
- At least 3 years of PostgreSQL experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in AI-assisted development workflows.
- Excellent debugging and architectural design skills to steer AI agents effectively.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and refactor Java (Spring Boot) back-end and Angular 21 front-end code.
- Use AI tools to generate boilerplate, write unit tests, and perform application modernization tasks.
- Ensure AI-generated outputs adhere to security, AWS cloud architecture, and PostgreSQL database standards.
- Manually review, debug, and optimize code to prevent integration issues and low-quality abstractions.
- Direct complex cross-functional, mission-critical initiatives and evaluate industry standards to drive innovation and intellectual property.
- Define enterprise patterns and guide their adoption across solutions.
- Set quality, reliability, and delivery practices.
- Mentor across the organization, build networks with decision makers, and serve as an external spokesperson.
- Advise executives on strategy, steer long-range planning and new lines of business, and deliver technical presentations.
