About The Position

CGI Federal is seeking an AI Full Stack Developer to design and build intelligent, data-driven applications that enable mission and business outcomes. The role involves end-to-end development, from responsive front-end interfaces and robust back-end services to integrating AI and machine-learning capabilities into production applications. CGI offers training and mentorship to help develop full-stack, AI/ML, and software-engineering skills. The developer will build and deploy applications across front-end, back-end, and data layers; integrate AI/ML features; connect applications to models, data sources, and external systems; and develop data pipelines. The role also works with stakeholders to define requirements and technical designs, monitors application performance and data quality, and contributes to code reviews, documentation, and responsible AI practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 1–6 years of experience in software development, full-stack engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience building full-stack applications across front end and back end.
• Experience applying AI/ML or generative AI in applications, such as integrating LLMs, AI APIs, or ML models.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue, and with back-end/API development.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with cloud-provider AI/ML services such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or SageMaker.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with REST API integration and building data pipelines or data models.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or vector databases.
• Familiarity with governance, security, and responsible AI concepts in regulated environments.
• Relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications across the front-end, back-end, and data layers.
• Integrate AI and machine-learning capabilities into applications, including LLM-based features, generative AI, and intelligent automation.
• Build and consume APIs and services connecting applications with AI models, data sources, and external systems.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines and workflows that support AI/ML features and application functionality.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical designs and working software.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and monitor application performance, reliability, and data quality.
• Participate in code reviews, document solutions, and follow engineering and responsible AI best practices.
