About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to lead our property accounting function. This role will oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and manage a team responsible for a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of property accounting, and hands-on experience with Yardi.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in property accounting
3+ years of experience managing or leading a team
Strong proficiency with Yardi (Voyager preferred)
Deep understanding of real estate/property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and lease structures
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the property accounting team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for assigned property portfolios
Review and approve financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses
Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies
Maintain and optimize accounting processes and internal controls
Serve as the subject matter expert for Yardi, including system optimization, reporting, and troubleshooting
Collaborate with asset management, property management, and other cross-functional teams
Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
Analyze financial performance and provide strategic insights to senior leadership
Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability
