About The Position

Primary responsibility over the full cycle accounting for the Willis Aviation Capital Funds. This position reports directly to the VP Accounting and assists with leasing contract review, reporting of fund activity on a monthly basis, year-end audit work for the funds, and other requests as needed. The Sr Accounting Manager - Funds ensures that the assigned day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives.

Requirements

  • Successful prior supervisory experience with strong emphasis in general managerial or public accounting (including supervision of accounts receivable and accounts payable).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with intercompany and eliminating transactions.
  • Excellent theoretical understanding of accounting and auditing principles, exceptionally strong analytical skills, and the ability to be attentive to details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with automated accounting systems in a networked environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or similar spreadsheet software and MS Word or similar word processing software.

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with investment funds is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handles all substantive and SOX requests related to Willis Aviation Capital funds.
  • Supervision of Senior Accountant - Funds; including training and back-up as needed.
  • Assists the Leasing division as needed with inter-related transactions.
  • Review the accounts payable aging and transaction journal on daily basis to ensure proper coding of invoices.
  • Monthly responsibility for the general ledger for the revaluation of foreign currencies and providing foreign divisions with the exchange rates for close.
  • Setting task goals and deadlines for direct reports.
  • Provide assistance to the tax department as needed for various requests.
  • Provide assistance to the finance department as needed for various requests.
  • Preparation and review of journal entries and workpapers as part of month end close, including specialized fund requests.
  • Reviewing analyses and supporting schedules for year-end audits and for interim management review reports.
  • Interfaces with managers and staff within the organization as well as outside customers, vendors, and auditors in such a way as to demonstrate a helpful, cooperative, knowledgeable attitude without relinquishing internal control and procedure responsibilities.
