About The Position

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR). Provide guidance and leadership in the development and documentation of internal controls, processes, and procedures. Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and completed in a timely manner. Review journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables with a focus on accuracy and completeness. Ensure adherence to government contract accounting standards and requirements, including revenue recognition under ASC 606. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and support financial initiatives. Mentor, coach, and develop staff to perform tasks with a focus on the "big picture". Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex financial concepts to finance and non-finance leaders. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to delegate or complete tasks effectively. Exhibit excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Experience in leading teams, guiding and directing resources, planning, forecasting, scheduling activities as needed. Ability to track and adapt to competing priorities and changing requirements in the aerospace and defense accounting environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • 5 years experience in SAP with an understanding of costs and revenues for an array of contractual programs in a complex manufacturing/logistics environment.
