Sr. Accountant
About The Position
The Senior Accountant (General Accounting) is responsible for maintaining the general ledger in accordance with IFRS and performs a full range of accounting tasks. This role provides accounting and finance support for the business cost centers, including budget/forecast preparation, and monitors and audits general ledger postings from field units. The position also involves tracking capital expenditure, fixed asset accounting, and creating/amending internal controls, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will work with international affiliates to maintain intercompany accounts and may oversee tasks of staff accountants.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- 5 to 7 years of experience in general accounting in an ERP environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate and disclose data in an accurate manner
- Ability to plan & organize work schedules, establish workload priorities and perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Proficient in all Microsoft office applications.
- Must be extremely proficient with spreadsheets and database query skills.
Nice To Haves
- 2 to 4 years SAP and Hyperion experience is preferred
- CPA is preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs month-end/year-end close.
- Conducts general ledger journal entries.
- Processes port fees payments to various Airport Authorities.
- Provides accounting and finance support for the business cost centres including Budget/Forecast preparation.
- Monitors and audits general ledger postings from field units.
- Controls account reconciliations.
- Performs financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Tracks capital expenditure.
- Conducts Fixed asset accounting.
- Creates and amends the internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- May oversee tasks of staff accountants.
- Other financial reporting as required.
- Completion of ad hoc projects as needed.
- Works with international affiliates to maintain intercompany accounts.
