About The Position

The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions in the general ledger. This role involves preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. The Senior Accountant will maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, as well as resolving discrepancies. They will also maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. The position assists with the preparation of financial statements, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and variance analysis. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist in the coordination and preparation of information for annual audits (SOX and external financial), ensure internal controls over accounting processes are adhered to and documented, and keep information confidential. The role also involves updating job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations, as well as undertaking other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2+ years of work related experience in accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and other financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with payroll.
  • Accuracy in daily work and other projects with thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • General math skills and ability to analyze data.
  • Ability to identify and research accounting issues.
  • Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint software applications with advanced knowledge of Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday ERP system and Adaptive (Excel-based reporting system) preferred.
