About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team. This role will be instrumental in leading full-cycle accounting tasks, managing month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance, experience in inventory accounting, and advanced Excel skills. This position offers the opportunity to drive process improvements, partner with plant leadership, and support audit activities within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience within manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance and accounting principles
  • Experience with inventory accounting and standard costing
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Self-directed problem solver who asks insightful questions to get to root causes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team environments and communicate effectively to non-finance personnel

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward certification
  • Prior experience in a multi-entity manufacturing environment
  • Prior ownership of close processes and full-cycle accounting
  • Experience with standard cost systems, cycle counting, and inventory controls
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, accruals, and complex adjusting entries
  • Own and execute the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries in the ERP system
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and proactively resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, standard cost updates, and variance analysis
  • Lead inventory cycle counts and ensure inventory integrity
  • Partner with plant leadership to evaluate cost drivers and improve operational performance
  • Assist with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and our internal key control activities and policies
  • Drive continuous process improvements and support automation initiatives
