About The Position

Corporate One is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support investment accounting, financial reporting, and strategic analysis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial statements and preparing reports that provide management with insight into investment performance and delivering key data to support organizational decision-making. As part of the Finance team, you’ll collaborate closely with leadership, auditors, and cross-functional partners to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across accounting processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and brings a strong foundation in accounting principles—along with the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful insights. This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-office collaboration for team meetings and key initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within financial institutions or investments
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data clearly
  • Effective organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a strong emphasis on Power Query is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with investment accounting systems preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting guidance such as ASC 320, 815, and 820 is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting records for Corporate One’s investment portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support month-end close processes, including investment-related entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports, charts, and analysis for leadership and board materials, explaining trends and variances.
  • Monitor investment activity, including amortization/accretion of premiums and discounts, and resolve discrepancies with external partners.
  • Conduct research and respond to investment-related inquiries from management.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including gathering documentation and addressing auditor questions.
  • Create and maintain documentation of accounting processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory and accounting standards.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Provide support for financial systems and tools, partnering with IT to ensure efficient and secure processes.
  • Aid in credit card issuance and expense reporting systems, as well as training and reporting.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and perform additional duties as needed.
