About The Position

The Senior Accountant II - Wholesale Accounting executes accurate and timely transaction processing and executes settlement, reconciliation, and reporting activities across Vistra’s diverse energy portfolio. This role involves executing complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls. The individual will analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include reviewing and reconciling information for accuracy, consistency, and compliance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes, and assisting in preparing and reviewing reports. The role also supports continuous improvement efforts and provides mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field
Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems
Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills
Process improvement oriented
Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process

Nice To Haves

Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze settlement data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.
Lead wholesale activities such as the end-to-end settlement lifecycle, including data validation, dispute resolution, invoice generation, and revenue/cost recognition across various transaction types.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, contributing settlement insights to support business strategies and regulatory compliance.
Participates in special projects as required.
Supports compliance with the departments accounting governance framework.
