About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring! Stefanini is looking for a SQL Database Administrator in Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite). This role involves providing primary DBA (Database Administration) responsibilities, including support for various application development teams through advising on design, implementing solutions, and optimizing databases for applications. The position requires expertise in MS SQL Server, evaluating and adopting new features in MS SQL Server releases, and working closely with Engineers across all Business Units to design, develop, and optimize databases for diverse application workloads. The role also includes providing support for Database (RDBMS's) standardization programs, installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of DBMS environments, designing and implementing database security controls, providing production support, capacity planning, and building global database infrastructure. Responsibilities also include managing various OS and database specific upgrades on Windows/Linux environments and building self-service and automation tools using scripts/programs (e.g., PowerShell) to reduce manual processing and provide low-touch offerings. Collaboration with Microsoft Engineering and Product support teams is expected for feedback and new feature requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field
  • 5 years of experience in a related role
  • Database design, Replication, Stored procedures, SQL performance and tuning
  • Expertise in all aspects of high-value add applications database support
  • Relational Database development, troubleshooting, design for highly concurrent applications
  • Ability to partner with application developers to negotiate and influence database standardized solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills in understanding complex issues and devising specific database solutions for global applications

Responsibilities

  • Provide Primary DBA (Database Administration) responsibilities
  • Support application development teams through advising on design, implementing solutions, and optimizing databases
  • Act as an MS SQL Server expert for the firm
  • Evaluate and adopt features in new releases of the MS SQL Server product
  • Work closely with Engineers across all Business Units to design, develop, and optimize databases for diverse application workloads
  • Provide support for Database (RDBMS's) standardization programs from design, development, and implementation
  • Perform installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of DBMS environment
  • Design and implement database security controls to safeguard firm's data
