Senior SQL Database Administrator
About The Position
We are seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS that extends through 2026 and offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission critical activities across the enterprise. Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications. These applications are used across the government enterprise and are critical to the daily functions of thousands of users across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, logistics and more. The selected candidate will join an existing team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) activities for commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and training applications. Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and ten (10) years of experience as a DBA. Fourteen (14) years of experience as a DBA may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency in managing SQL Server Databases
- Must be able to work during core hours of M-F 10am-2pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Nice To Haves
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I
- Experience with PowerShell scripting language
- Experience in SharePoint migrations
- Ability to clearly communicate ambiguous or highly complex concepts to all audiences
Responsibilities
- Perform database patching and vulnerability remediation in alignment with IAVA requirements, including compliance reporting across enterprise database systems.
- Maintain and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (various versions) across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for database systems, including performance tuning, query optimization, and issue resolution.
- Execute database patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and routine maintenance to ensure data integrity, availability, and system reliability.
- Implement and manage database security, including user access controls, roles, permissions, and encryption standards.
- Utilize T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation of database administration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
- Leverage AWS services, including RDS, EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation, to deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-hosted database solutions.
- Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Ansible and Terraform for database provisioning, configuration management, and automation.
- Develop and maintain database automation scripts and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve performance and uptime.
