About The Position
CORE-CSI is a small business headquartered in Sterling, VA. We provide trusted and results-oriented expertise to the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, and other Federal and Commercial customers across the US. Core-CSI is seeking a talented Mid-Level SQL Database Administrator (DBA) / SQL SME to support a federal government customer. The successful candidate will perform hands-on administration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and development activities for SQL Server and related enterprise database environments.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of database administration experience.
- US Citizenship is required for this position.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with SQL Clustering, SQL scripting, backup/recovery, patching, and performance tuning.
- Experience implementing or supporting HA/DR environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, and MS Access is desirable.
- Microsoft SQL/database certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain SQL Server, SQL Cluster, and standalone SQL database environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot SQL databases and database servers.
- Perform SQL scripting, backup/restore, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Implement and test High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Monitor database health, capacity, availability, and performance.
- Support monitoring platforms such as Idera and SolarWinds.
- Troubleshoot database and application integration issues, including SharePoint-related database support.
- Process incidents, service requests, and Requests for Change using ServiceNow.
- Perform software installations and scheduled server/database maintenance.
- Develop scripts and automation to improve routine database administration.
- Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of database incidents.
- Collaborate with senior DBAs and government technical teams.
- Document work performed and contribute to weekly support reports.
