About The Position

RedSky is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to provide remote support for one of our valued government clients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, a commitment to excellence, and a track record of delivering reliable results in dynamic environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related discipline -OR- equivalent combination of technical certifications and seven (7)+ years of hands-on database administration experience in a DoD or Federal Enterprise environment.
• Three (3)+ years of hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems.
• Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages.
• Two (2) projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.
• Proven experience designing and executing backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies for enterprise databases.
• Ability to implement database security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, and RMF.
• Ability to monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans
• Familiarity of IAVM directives, database patch application, and updates
• Ability to create and maintain database architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and SOPs
• Secret DoD Clearance
• 8570/8140 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II

Responsibilities

• Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
• Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
• Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
• Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
• Advises users on access to various client/server databases.
• Designs, implements, and maintains complex access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
• Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).
• Performs database programming and supports systems design.
• Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
