About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing current internal and external quality indicators and ensuring the quality of parts provided by suppliers, lead special projects with suppliers to achieve positive results to Quality Key Performance Indicators. The Assistant Manager will manage quality and related practices in supplier quality management and new model process development to meet company goals. This role involves monitoring and investigating concerns related to internal and external quality indicators and driving continuous improvement through root cause analysis of concerns and developing short-term and long-term countermeasures. The position requires communicating internal and external quality concerns to other departments and improving the inspection process for those concerns. The Assistant Manager will initiate and complete reports tracking Key Performance Indicators, provide feedback on quality concerns to suppliers and internally to improve part and vehicle quality levels, and participate in forecasting and forward planning activities for supplier changes, part changes, and management of new model launches.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ progressive experience (or 5 years with Bachelor’s degree) in a quality assurance role in the automotive industry.
  • Supplier process audits
  • New vehicle Model Launch
  • Root cause analysis of quality concerns
  • Supplier process improvement through statistical analysis.
  • Coordination of internal/external corrective actions for processes or part quality concerns
  • SAP or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Implementation of Six sigma methodology
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)/Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Control Plan and Process Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) review and approval.
  • Geometrical Dimensions & Tolerance
  • Building Management Systems as implemented in automotive manufacturing

Responsibilities
