About The Position

This role involves coating high-tech electronics according to precise manufacturing specifications. The job requires the ability to apply coatings by hand, including touch-up work, and to understand various coating mediums used for different customers. The position demands the ability to stand or sit for extended periods during the coating operation. Responsibilities include operating and adjusting spray guns, mixing coatings with thinners for optimal coverage and protection, and working with two-part coatings. Knowledge of coating removal methods based on material type is also necessary. Effective time management is crucial for balancing setup time with ongoing coating tasks on multiple assemblies. Proficiency in computer skills is required to operate automated spray machines like Precision Coat and Parylene Coating Machines. The role also entails reading and interpreting Manufacturing Travelers and drawings specific to customer assemblies. Use of microscopes and magnifying glasses may be required. The job holder must be able to tolerate the smell of coatings and thinners. Working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, both independently and as part of a group, is expected. Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with fine tools such as Xacto knives, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, and micrometers are essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time during the coating operation.
  • Ability to work with spray guns and adjust them accordingly.
  • Ability to mix the right amount of thinner to coating mixture.
  • Ability to mix and work with 2 part coatings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of coating removal methods based on material type.
  • Time management skills.
  • Good computer skills to run Precision Coat automated spray machine and/or Parylene Coating Machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a Manufacturing Traveler.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/working travelers.
  • Ability to tolerate the smell of coatings and thinners.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, detailed oriented environment.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a group.
  • Good dexterity and demonstrate the ability to work well with hands.
  • Able to work with fine tools (i.e. Xacto knifes, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, micrometers).

Responsibilities

  • Coat high-tech electronics to exact specifications outlined on the Manufacturing Traveler.
  • Perform hand application of coatings and touch-up work.
  • Understand and utilize various coating mediums for different customer requirements.
  • Operate and adjust spray guns based on coating type.
  • Mix coatings with appropriate amounts of thinner for optimal coverage and protection.
  • Mix and work with two-part coatings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of coating removal methods based on material type.
