About The Position

This role involves coating high-tech electronics according to precise specifications outlined in Manufacturing Travelers. The position requires knowledge of various coating mediums, the ability to work with spray guns and mix coatings, and proficiency with automated spray machines. The individual will also be responsible for coating removal, managing setup time, and interpreting manufacturing travelers and drawings. The work environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, requiring both independent work and teamwork, along with good manual dexterity.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time during the coating operation.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret a Manufacturing Traveler.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/working travelers.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a group.
  • Must have good dexterity and demonstrate the ability to work well with hands.
  • Must be able to work with fine tools (i.e. Xacto knifes, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, micrometers).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the various coating mediums used for a variety of our customer’s.
  • Time management skills are needed to organize “set-up” time of material sprayed on the PCBs while simultaneously working on other assemblies that need to be coated as well.

Responsibilities

  • Coat high-tech electronics to exact specifications called out on the Manufacturing Traveler, by hand and with touch-up.
  • Utilize knowledge of various coating mediums for different customer needs.
  • Work with spray guns, adjusting them based on coating type and mixing appropriate thinner-to-coating ratios for optimal coverage and protection.
  • Mix and work with 2-part coatings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of coating removal methods based on material type.
  • Manage setup time for sprayed materials on PCBs while working on other assemblies.
  • Operate Precision Coat automated spray machines and/or Parylene Coating Machines.
  • Read and interpret Manufacturing Travelers and drawings for customer assemblies.
  • Use microscopes and/or magnifying glasses as required.
  • Tolerate the smell of coatings and thinners.
  • Work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Work independently as well as within a group.
  • Utilize fine tools such as Xacto knives, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, and micrometers.
