About The Position

This is the first of four levels in the Pest Control series. Incumbents operate spray trucks. Responsibilities may include operating a vehicle for long periods of time at speeds preset for the accurate application of insecticides; and maintaining all applicable meter readings and spray logs. Operates spray trucks which includes checking gas levels, spraying and applying pesticides, and/or performing related duties. Takes a variety of meter readings. Prepares a variety of operational logs and records. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.
• Basic work etiquette.
• Manual labor skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read maps, charts, and gages.
• Ability to communicate via two-way radio.
• Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
