About The Position

Ace Hardware is seeking a Spotter to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our distribution center by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of yard trucks and trailers. You will perform safety and mechanical checks, drive yard trucks to move trailers, and operate forklifts for loading. Requirements

Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
Be an active participant in contributing to a successful safety culture in the facility.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
CDL A Certification
Hazmat and Doubles endorsements
Minimum 1 year driving tractor/trailer combinations
Knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

Performs a complete safety and mechanical check of the Yard truck and trailers to be moved.
Climbs up into cab, drives to trailers, backs up to the trailer, raises 5th wheel, makes connections, climbs down to remove wheel chock, climb up into cab and drives away.
Backs the trailer into the designed spot, disconnects the trailer, installs chocks.
Drives forklift to make up cross dock loads.
Perform housekeeping duties, keep floors clean, and keep work areas neat and clean.
