About The Position

This position works in the distribution area of the plant and operates a shag (semi-tractor) truck with hydraulic lifts to move refrigerated trailers and tankers around a warehouse or storage yard. The role also involves setting and monitoring unit temperatures according to customer requests and completing shag fee and wash-out tickets.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of truck driving experience.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently and effectively.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including possible overtime, 6 to 7 days per week during peak times, and holidays.
• Must be able to open and close trailer doors and apply seals, including pushing and pulling.
• Must be able to climb up and down a semi-tractor ladder approximately 25 or more times per hour.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear.

Responsibilities

• Use a semi-tractor to move refrigerated trailers and tankers around the plant yard and, in some cases, to the cold storage warehouse across from the facility.
• Perform routine light equipment maintenance, including cleaning and pre-inspections.
• Set and monitor unit temperatures according to individual customer requests.
• Complete shag fee and wash-out tickets.
