About The Position

This position works in the distribution area of the plant and is responsible for operating a shag (semi-tractor) truck with hydraulic lifts to move refrigerated trailers and tankers around a warehouse or storage yard. The role includes moving trailers around the plant yard and, at times, to the cold storage warehouse across from the facility. The position also performs light equipment maintenance, sets and monitors unit temperatures according to customer requests, and completes shag fee and wash out tickets.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of truck driving experience.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and efficiently and effectively manage time.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and possibly overtime, 6 to 7 days per week during peak times, and holidays.
• Ability to work in the stated plant environment and meet the physical demands of the role, including opening, closing, and sealing trailer doors; climbing up and down a semi-tractor ladder approximately 25 or more times per hour; and frequently standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.

Responsibilities

• Operate a semi-tractor to move refrigerated trailers and tankers around the plant yard and sometimes to the cold storage warehouse across from the facility.
• Perform routine light maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and pre-inspections.
• Set and monitor unit temperatures according to individual customer requests.
• Complete shag fee and wash out tickets.
