About The Position

This position works in the distribution area of the plant and is responsible for operating a yard spotter (semi-tractor) truck with hydraulic lifts to move refrigerated trailers and tankers around a warehouse or storage yard. The role also involves moving some trailers to the cold storage warehouse across from the facility, performing routine light equipment maintenance, and setting and monitoring unit temperatures according to customer requests.

The plant environment may include outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise is usually loud in the production area. The job requires opening and closing trailer doors and applying seals, as well as repeatedly climbing to and from the semi-tractor. Requirements

• At least 1 year of truck driving experience.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently and effectively.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, possibly including overtime, 6 to 7 days per week during peak times, and holidays.
• Ability to open and close trailer doors and apply seals; repeatedly crawl up and down a ladder to and from the semi-tractor approximately 25 times or more per hour.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.

Responsibilities

• Use a semi-tractor to move refrigerated trailers and tankers around the plant yard and some to the cold storage warehouse across from the facility.
