About The Position

Temp Spot Weld Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a spot weld machine/gun. The spot weld operator will change and file gun tips, adjust welder setting and push control buttons to program machine for job. Spot welder will position part in tip or load and unload part in fixture and activate welder. Operator will use grinder to remove excess weld beads. Operators will use specifications to accurately weld parts and verify product quality by inspection and measuring equipment. Essential Job Functions Follow safety and environmental procedures. Come to work every day, on time as scheduled. Proficient communication skills Accurately read and use quality tools to ensure quality parts. Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications to verify product quality. Use computer to enter part information/inventory in ERP system. Load, setup, operate spot welding equipment. Perform basic preventative maintenance and repair and setup to keep spot welder running smoothly and reduce downtime. Examine weld during welding process. Inspect and green tag first piece. Execute scheduling board. Ability to use motorized walking stacker. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Competencies: High School Diploma or GED Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to operate cranes, overhead hoist. Ability to use quality inspection equipment. Proficient and basic math and computer skills. Work Environment The work environment is a metal fabrication machine shop. Indoor, noisy, hot in summer months Hours: Monday - Friday (Overtime When Mandatory). 1st Shift; 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Requirements
