An entry-level role supporting spot welding operations in metal fabrication/auto manufacturing. Assists welders by preparing parts, loading/unloading, and helping ensure weld quality and production flow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; basic mechanical aptitude; eagerness to learn.
- Ability to read simple instructions/blueprints and perform basic math.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to about 50 lbs; tolerate heat/noise in a manufacturing environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a team.
Responsibilities
- Set up spot welding equipment and fixtures
- Load, align, and clamp metal parts for welding per work instructions.
- Feed, position, and stack components; move assemblies between stations as needed.
- Monitor weld quality during runs; identify and remove defective parts or jams; document basic production data.
- Help maintain and clean equipment; assist with electrode changes and fixture upkeep.
- Follow safety procedures, wear PPE, keep the work area tidy, and report hazards.
