About The Position

The responsibility of the Weld Engineer is to identify areas of improvement in weld processes and procedures and develop, train, and document updated processes and procedures to ensure the success of the weld team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or one to three years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Organized and detail oriented
• Highly motivated and self-directed
• Analytical thinker and problem-solver
• Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills
• Ability to create, design, and analyze blueprints and drawings

Responsibilities

• Investigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivity
• Design welded parts, assemblies and structures
• Develop repair procedures and assess flaws to determine the fitness-for-service of structures
• Develop standards, materials, weld joint design, and welding processes
• Develop welding process procedure qualification, supplier qualification, and product testing
• Troubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutions
• Lead welding projects
• Analyze engineering designs for welding requirements
• Conduct failure analysis and cause analysis on weld issues
