Participate in driving on-track performance improvements through guiding long-term vehicle development directions and providing event specific vehicle configuration, setup, and strategy recommendations to supported race teams. Support all sportscar series objectives by performing analysis in a variety of areas, including vehicle dynamics analysis, simulation model correlation and refinement, on-track, rig-test and DIL data reduction and interpretation, methods development, competitor analysis and reporting tasks. Maintain relationships and alignment with supported race team personnel, travel to occasional race and test events, and closely collaborate with the many groups internal to GM motorsports. Collaborate with GM supported teams and GM personnel to understand team objectives, contribute to a coordinated development effort, and convey findings to all necessary groups. Continuously strive to improve GM Motorsports program’s tools, analysis methods, and vehicle dynamics understanding by: reimagining and prototyping new and better solutions to common problems or questions, correlating existing methods and validating new improvements against track and test data, and working with GM Software team to implement solutions in our production tools. Implement vehicle simulation and data analysis methods, to develop race winning solutions including race-specific setup refinement, pre and post-event reports distributed directly to race team personnel, conceptual studies to guide big-picture development efforts, competitor analysis and event characterization, and race strategy optimization. Clearly present findings, recommendations, and analysis results through well organized and actionable reports and in-person follow-up.
